Gaborone, Botswana 21 August 2025 - Air Botswana is pleased to share its network rationalization. The airline’s focus is to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance services, improve customer access, and continue to facilitate trade and tourism.

As part of our route optimization strategy, Air Botswana has suspended services on the Gaborone Durban and Gaborone Windhoek routes. Passengers traveling to Windhoek will continue to have access via our Gaborone-Maun-Windhoek connection. This decision enables us to optimize our route network, safeguard schedule integrity, and ensure that our customers continue to benefit from reliable and efficient services.

The airline further notes that in the past financial year, Air Botswana achieved an OnTime Performance (OTP) of 84%, exceeding 80% industry target, with July 2025 OTP performance reaching 92%. These results demonstrate the impact of our operational discipline and reflect our commitment to delivering a dependable service. By streamlining our routes, we expect to build further on this momentum, reduce disruptions, and provide our customers with greater confidence in our schedule
integrity.

Said, Acting General Manager, Mr. Boikanyo Ntwaagae, “As Botswana’s national airline, we are determined to deliver safe, reliable, and customer-focused services. Through streamlining our routes and expanding service options, we are positioning
ourselves to support Botswana’s growth. At the heart of our ambitions is our commitment to contribute even more meaningfully to the country’s socioeconomic development and our commitment to being Botswana’s wings.”
