Air Botswana and the United States Embassy formed a joint a public-private partnership that will transport needed medical personnel and supplies to areas of Botswana that are in need of additional medical service.
U.S. Ambassador Michelle D. Gavin and Air Botswana Director Commercial Mr Joe Motse launched the partnership with a press event at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport on April 17, 2013 at the center hall of the main terminal.
Under the newly established partnership, the United States Government will provide the medical personnel and supplies, and Air Botswana will transport them within its domestic route network at no charge. The University of Botswana School of Medicine and the Ministry of Health will also supply personnel in support of this project. Air Botswana will provide, free of charge, two trips per month for two medical personnel and supplies to Maun, Francistown, and Kasane.
