AIR BOTSWANA BOARD ASSERTS GOVERNANCE MANDATE AND INSTITUTIONAL STABILITY
GABORONE, 26 November 2025 — Air Botswana’s Board of Directors asserts its comprehensive mandate to restore institutional stability and robust governance across the airline.
The Airline confirms that, after a period during which it did not have a fully constituted Board as envisaged under the Air Botswana Act [Cap 74:07], the Shareholder, through the Ministry, appointed a new Board in May this year to restore governance continuity, strategic oversight, and institutional stability
In strict discharge of its statutory and fiduciary responsibilities, the Board has commenced a structured and intensive review of the Airline’s governance, compliance, financial controls, and operational frameworks. This work is being executed in alignment with applicable legislation, the SOE Governance Policy and recognised principles of good corporate governance.
The Airline remains committed to restoring full compliance and engaging transparently with oversight institutions. As some matters remain under formal consideration by the appropriate authorities, Air Botswana cannot comment on specific allegations or ongoing matters at this time.
Through the Board’s firm strategic oversight, Air Botswana looks forward to leveraging the findings of this review to position the airline for sustainable growth and enhanced service delivery
